Category of Trust Funds

The number 1 Unit Trust Company currently promotes five categories of funds which are known as follows:
  • equity fund,
  • balanced fund
  • bond fund and
  • money market fund.
The difference among the five categories lies with level of investment risk and with the (asset) allocation among the various asset classes i.e. between equities, bonds and money market instruments, resulting in different emphasis being placed on capital growth and income.

Equity Fund and Balanced Fund are known as Loaded Fund and Bond Fund, Fixed Income Fund and Money Market Fund are known as Low Loaded Fund

Notes

Investors are advice to discuss their investment plan as each of the trust funds come with its own investment strategies.

Among the objectives that the funds are raised are as follows:
  • To achieve steady capital growth
  • To provide income/steady income
  • To provide income and capital growth
  • To seek long term capital appreciation
  • To provide annual income
The Funds objective is very much dependent on the fund category discussed here.
